
You will find that turkey meat is not only affordable to buy but is also very lean and is great to use in any low fat meal. Here is a Low Fat Turkey With Chinese Style Stir Fry recipe which is fast and easy to make. You can also use this recipe if you have left over turkey from the Christmas dinner.
Preparation Time for this recipe is approximately 45 minutes.
Ingredients.
2 – 3 Slices of Turkey
2 Tablespoons of Dry Sherry
2 Tablespoons of Dark Soy Sauce
1 – 2 Tablespoons of Sweet Chilli Sauce
Small piece of Ginger shredded
2 Teaspoons of Sunflower Oil
1 Red Onion
4 Heads of Pak Choy
200 Grams of Shiitake Mushrooms, cut in half
1 Red Chilli Slice (optional)
Method.
1. Firstly mix together the ginger,soy sauce,sherry, chilli sauce and sesame oil in a large bowl. Then coat the sliced turkey in the marinade and leave for approximately 30 minutes or even overnight for better flavour.
2. Preheat a grilling pan or fry pan until you see smoke, the pan must be very hot. Place the turkey from the marinade onto the pan and sear it for about 3 -4 minutes on each side.
3. Lastly you can add sunflower oil to a wok or a deep frying pan and stir fry the shitaki mushrooms and chilli for 1 -2 minutes. Pour over the remaining marinade and bring it to the boil. You can then stir in the sliced onions and pak choy for a further 1 – 2 minutes, until you see the vegetables have just wiltered and that you can see the sauce has thickened. Serve immediately with the sliced turkey. Enjoy.
