When trying to lose weight Healthy Diets will help you achieve this in the long term.Healthy diets should always include a variety of foods from the 5 food groups.By consuming fresh fruit and vegetables daily, you will gain better nutrition and a healthier diet.
The five food groups are:
- -Fruit
- -Legumes and fruits
- -Lean meat such as poultry and fish,eggs,nuts
- -Cereals,pasta,rice,noodles bread
- -Yogurt,cheese,milk
Most of your diet should include wholegrain cereals and breads,fruit and vegetables and legumes.By eating a variety of foods you will get the required amount of nutrition needed to help you lose weight.It is also important to keep your sugar and salt intake to a minimum.
To help you lose weight effectively it is also important to balance your healthy eating with regular exercise.It is recommended that we get 30 minutes of exercise such as walking everyday to keep us healthy.

Avoid eating saturated fats which are mostly found in animal products.Saturated fats increase our blood cholesterol.Polyunsaturated fats can be healthy in small amounts as it helps to lower blood cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure.
To reduce the amount of fat in your diet eat more vegetables which will keep you feeling full and provide you with enough nutrients for the day.By having a healthy diet you will certainly prevent many illnesses such as diabetes,cancer and heart disease.Your immune system will be stronger and you will cope with stress a lot better.
Below i have included a recipe for chocolate fudge pie that you can try which has only 272 calories per serving.
Chocolate Fudge Pie.
Half a packet of refrigerated pie dough (15 ounce)
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa
1 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup light colored corn syrup
1 tablespoon of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of reduced fat milk
1 Tablespoon of butter melted
2 large eggs
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup fat free whipped topping
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Get a 9 inch pie plate and place dough to fit.Fold edges over and then place in freezer.
Combine 1/2 cup cocoa,brown sugar and flour in a bowl.Then combine the milk,corn syrup,butter,vanilla extract,eggs and egg whites.Whisk until well blended and then add it to the brown sugar mixture.Mix until it is well combined.
Pour mixture into pie plate and bake for 40 minutes or until set.Let it cool at room temperature and then refrigerate for four hours.Then spread whipped topping over filling and sprinkle cocoa if desired.
